New Music Friday Cyprus – October 9th

‘Die Before I’m Famous’ is ultimately less a song about fame than it is about time. The fear that you’re falling behind. The fear that everyone else has figured out how to live while you’re still chasing something you can’t prove will ever arrive. And perhaps most painfully of all: the fear that you’ll only realise your life was enough when it’s already too late. – Babystep magazine

Raised in Cyprus, Christian Cherry’s music is shaped by the collision between small-town Mediterranean life and an internet-fuelled desire to reach far beyond it. His sound pulls from confessional folk, ’90s rock and electronic music, while his writing tackles ambition, masculinity, faith, desire and the uncomfortable business of trying to become someone.
